Traditional fixed braces with brackets and wire are used by many young people. There are different systems:

• Conventional bracket systems: Brackets made of steel are connected to an archwire, which are used to regulate the teeth into the correct position step by step.
• Self-ligating brackets: Smaller brackets, gentler forces, shorter treatment time: there is no need for rubber rings that discolor quickly and the small size of the brackets, as well as the absence of wings, means that less food debris gets stuck in the brackets. This enables better oral hygiene
• Ceramic brackets: Aesthetically inconspicuous alternative with a look that matches the tooth color.
• Mini brackets: Mini brackets are smaller and flatter than conventional brackets, making them more comfortable to wear.
• They protect the soft tissue and are less noticeable – particularly pleasant in the initial phase of treatment.

Lingual brackets: For young people who want discreet treatment, we offer the lingual technique. The brackets are attached to the inside of the teeth – invisible from the outside. We work with the leading systems from Inkognito and WIN. We achieve high precision and maximum wearing comfort through individual adjustment.

Lingual retainers: In order to maintain the success of the treatment and guarantee beautifully straight teeth in the long term, it is possible to use a lingual retainer after treatment with brackets or other orthodontic appliances. This is a wire that is attached to the inside of the row of teeth. It is invisible from the outside.

Invisalign^®: Transparent aligners such as Invisalign^® offer a comfortable way of gently correcting misaligned teeth. Prerequisite: discipline when wearing these plastic aligners (at least 20 hours a day). We provide independent advice on Invisalign^® or in-house manufactured aligners using intraoral scanners & 3D printing – ideal for minor corrections.

Skeletal anchorage: For complex tooth movements, avoids undesirable side effects.

Pendulum: Alternative to the headgear, uses pressure springs to gently move the molars backwards. The pendulum is not visible from the outside.

If the lower jaw is set back (distal bite), biting is difficult and the facial profile appears inharmonious. This malocclusion can be corrected gently and efficiently with the Carriere Motion appliance. 

The system is firmly installed but discreet and brings the lower jaw forward step by step – regardless of the patient's active cooperation. Depending on the findings, Forsus springs, Powerscoop or Herbst hinges are also used to harmonize function and aesthetics.
